Training Description:
Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) training introduces evidence-based tools (like the AUDIT and DAST) for early identification of problematic substance use and teaches short, motivational interventions to engage clients who may be ambivalent about change. The course also covers referral pathways to higher levels of care when needed. By the end, counselors can expect to confidently implement brief, targeted interventions and link clients to the most appropriate services, improving early detection and treatment outcomes.
